While there’s a lot to learn about content marketing online, finding trustworthy resources is a different ball game.

If you’re considering a career in content marketing or freelance writing, here are the resources I count on to stay updated and improve my skills.

Books

Nicely Said: Writing for the Web with Style and Purpose by Kate Kiefer Lee and Nicole Fenton

If you are a newbie content writer, I can’t recommend this book enough. And if you are professional, this is one of the books I go back to at the beginning of a new writing project. It’s easy to read and very practical. You can check out Nicole Fenton’s website here to learn more about content design and strategic writing.

Little Black Book by Otegha Uwagba

This tiny book (100+ pages) packs a punch. It contains practical tips for creatives who want to go freelance.

Blogs, Podcasts, and Newsletters

Fenwick Media

Love, love, love the writing on this site and their newsletter! Despite the serious themes, I love that there’s a literary and whimsical element to what they write.
